The Dow Futures, Nasdaq Futures, and the S&P 500 make up the US Stock Market. Reviewing there 10-year history from October 15 thru October 21, the Dow Futures and Nasdaq futures went up 6 years (not in a row) and went down 4 years in a 10-year period. Since there is no majority in their 10-year history of movement, the futures could go either way. It’s a crap shoot! The S&P 500 futures from October 15 thru October 21, 10-year history went up 8 years (not in a row) and went down only 2 years in a 10-year history review. There is a high probability of the S&P 500 futures are going up this year from the October 15 to October 21 window. We deal with probabilities and not absolutes when trading stock and options. History likes to repeat itself. When the futures go up, you want to be buying stock or calls. When the futures are going down, you want to be buying puts. Make the money when the futures go up or down. Be market neutral.
